"I'm sorry that you feel we were not responsive to your interest in switching agencies, however I agree with the strong ethics of your current Agent and would have handled your request the same way. I believe my office was at least the fourth other State Farm Agency who you sought to handle your unique request. I am certainly willing to speak with you to explain that what you requested is not condoned by State Farm's corporate requirements for its independent contractor agents. Doing what you requested would be grounds for State Farm to terminate my contract with State Farm to be an agent of the company, and I have thousands of customers who are counting on me to continue to be their State Farm Agent. I wish you only the best and hope you understand why a transfer to my office would not change the response to your request. - Coe Bancroft, State Farm Agent P.S. I'm sorry that my office Team Members who took your first calls gave you the impression that a transfer was approved, when they were trying to be sympathetic that you were frustrated with your current Agent. We should have made it clear that there is a process to change from one in-state State Farm Agent to another, which includes the requested Agent agreeing that you would be better served with the transfer. And it also should have been made clear that your transfer was not yet approved, as it had not even been submitted to State Farm for processing without my authorization. I certainly apologize for the confusion and any inconvenience this matter caused you."

While the Team Member who was helping you did have a family emergency that pulled her out of the office in the middle of running your quotes, we certainly should have verified that your request was either complete or reassigned to another Team Member for handling. I apologize that our service did not live up to our normal standards, and my Team has been reminded of the importance of backing each other up in the event of an emergency.
